Artist's Description
Front Cover of the 1979, 5th Annual Destin Billfish Tournament Magazine with the cover painting by Gary Partin. This annual event occurred on September 14-15-16 at Destin, Florida over 30 years ago. “Weighing In” depicts the weighing of a Blue Marlin at the Marlborough Marina dock, a familiar scene on the Destin waterfront. The artist has portrayed the last lingering excitement at the end of a day of hard work and thrills in the Gulf of Mexico. That last moment before the champion catch is brought down to be mounted and the waterfront settles back down to its quaint peaceful atmosphere.
